Upper Elementary School Teacher (Montessori)
We are seeking an experienced Upper Elementary School Teacher for a year-round Montessori program.
The ideal candidate is a skilled, thoughtful educator with strong classroom presence and a deep understanding of child development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Teaching experience required
- Montessori certification preferred
- Strength in mathematics and language instruction required
- Must reside within commuting distance of Palo Alto
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Position:
Full-time, year-round role. 8-hour professional day. Up to five weeks of paid time off (accrued). Competitive compensation and full benefits.

The compensation for this position is $60,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on skills and experience. Job Description:
The Montessori teacher will instruct kindergarten students on language, science and mathematics using Montessori teaching methods, including lecture and demonstration; supervise activities, such as field visits, group discussions, and dramatic play acting; foster cooperative social behavior through games and group projects to assist children in forming social relationships with other children; direct students in simple spelling, mathematics, singing, dancing, and drawing to promote self-expression and rudimentary knowledge of language, art and science.
Job Requirements:
To qualify for the position, a candidate must have:
- a bachelor’s degree, preferably in education or humanities, including English and the arts;
- an early childhood (2.5-6.0 years old) Montessori teacher certification or diploma from a recognzed AMI or AMS training institute; and
- a minimum of two years of teaching experience at the preschool level.

Job Description
The music teacher will teach group and private music classes that provide a music foundation for kindergarten and elementary school students; develop curriculum for group lessons, including piano and vocal; demonstrate musical scales, tones, and rhythm; instruct students in music theory, harmony, score, and sight reading; assign practice lessons; and evaluate students’ progress.
Job Requirements
To qualify for the position, a candidate must have at a minimum
- a bachelor’s degree in music or musicology;
- coursework in teaching and playing piano as well as other instruments, teaching vocal singing;
- and the pedagogy of music.
- In addition, a minimum of two years of full-time experience teaching music to children is required.
